MUMBAI (Commodity Online): Trade volumes in India’s commodity futures exchanges have fallen 5.40% to 136.519 lakh crore from 144.311 lakh crore the corresponding period in the previous year.
For the fortnight ended January 15, 2013, trade volumes were recorded at 6.895 lakh crore a fall of 2.65% compared to corresponding period last year.
Total value of agri commodities gained 12.80% in this fiscal year to $1.79 cr as against 1.59 lakh cr last year while bullion trade fell 24.56% to 6.3210 lakh cr while metals other than bullioin rose 25.28% to 1.50 lakh crore as against Rs 1.19 lakh crore last year.
