NEW DELHI (Commodity Online): India crude oil import prices have risen to Rs 5733.41 on Friday in rupee terms from Rs 5651.88 recorded on Thursday. According to the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural gas, crude oil prices were higher at$116.32 per barrel. The increase in import prices is due to higher crude price in dollar terms and rupee depreciation recording an exchange rate of Rs Rs 49.29 /US$ against Rs49.07 /US$ published on 9.2.2012.
India depends on North Sea Brent crude oil to meet its energy requirements.The price, computed and published by PPAC on their website is based on last trading day’s figures of 09.2.2012. The price computed/ published on 9.2.2012 based on trading figures of 8.2.2012 was US$ 115.18 per bbl.
