NEW DELHI (Commodity Online): India government has proposed a law to ensure free flow of inter-state trade and transportation of agricultural produce in the country.
The introduction of the law would free the traders from multiple local taxes like octroi and toll tax.
The Agricultural Ministry's move for the introduction of the law is also backed by the Prime Ministry and Law ministry of the country.
Law ministry has cleared the law and it is to be called as the Inter-State Agriculture Produce Trade and Commerce (Development and Regulation) Bill, reported The Asia Age
Under the law, the traders would be required to register and pay a fixed fee for a minimum five years. This will free them from taxes and tolls across the country.
