  • NEW DELHI (Commodity Online): A Steel Pavilion has been set up at the India International Trader Fair, IITF -2012 consisting of exhibits of ten public sector companies under the Ministry of Steel and three private sector companies.

    The Pavilion was inaugurated by Beni Prasad Verma, Union Minister for Steel who complimented the exhibitors for the efforts made for popularizing steel and promoting its use in the country. He said, Steel companies should innovate and manufacture steel products that can be used in households. Such items will help fulfill market demand and increase sales. He appreciated the efforts of Steel Authority of India Limited in displaying light weight stainless steel that can be used to manufacture LPG cylinders.

    This year’s theme for the pavilion was ‘Skilling India’ which depicts the impact of steel on the society. The participants showed off their products and services and connect of these products with the populace in general.

    Also present on the occasion was the Secretary, Ministry of Steel Shri D.R.S. Chaudhary and other senior officers from the Ministry of Steel and Chief Executives from various PSUs under the Ministry of Steel.
