Indian food gains popularity in UK for its authentic flavor

LONDON (Commodity Online): Indian recipes are gaining more and more publicity in Britain as a result Indian resturant chains offering authentic fare has seen increasing its branches.


According to reports, the growing demand for real Indian food among Indians as well as among the English has resulted in 12,000 Indian restaurants and with a annual turnover of £4.2 billion, reported PTI.


Some of the famous Indian restaurants like Chennai Dosa, Saravana Bhavan, Hindoostanee Coffee House, and some others has fixed their feet and now expanding to more areas spreading the flavor of desi masala.


In 1810, the Hindoostanee Coffee House was the first Indian restaurant in Britain opened by Sake Dean Mohamed from Patna. From then onwards, the Indian food industry in UK has grown tremendously.


Most popular food in Britain are vada pav, pav bhaji, misal pav, bhel puri, South Indian foods like dosa, idlli, vada etc..
