NEW DELHI (Commodity Online): India’s state run trading agency has invited bids for the sale of 6000 tonnes of imported pulses in order to boost domestic supply in the wake of high food inflation.

The bids will close on March 22 and the decision on the tender will be taken by March 26, it said. The pulses offered for sale are grown in the 2009 crop year and have been imported from Myanmar, Australia, Canada and Africa, it added.
Currently, these pulses are lying at godowns in Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. Bidders should quote for a minimum of 250 tonnes of pulses, it added.
