NEW DELIH (Commodity Online): India's non-basmati exports may increase to 5 million tons (mt) in 2012 from 3.8 mt previous year, showing a rise of around 32% , according to International Grains Council (IGC).
India's production is expected to be around 102 mt and consumption is estimated to be around 95 mt.
Meanwhile, the global produstion is expected to be higher to 459 mt in the 2011-12 crop year but the the shippment are expected to decline due to drop in export of rice from Thailand and Veitnam.
India is the second largest producer of rice in the world.
