Indonesia remains world’s top nutmeg producer

JAKARTA (Commodity Online) : Indonesia continued to enjoy its top ranking in nutmeg production as it accounts for 75 per cent of global nutmeg needs.

According to country’s commerce ministry, North Sulawesi Province accounts for almost all the country’s production with an output of nearly 2000 tons every month.



Global demand for the spice stood at around 20,000 tons per year.
