KEC Intl of RPG Enterprise bags orders worth 1,212cr

MUMBAI (Commodity Online): KEC International Ltd. (KEC ), a billion dollar global infrastructure EPC major and an RPG Enterprise, has bagged new orders worth '1,212 crore.


KEC International is a billion dollar turnover, global infrastructure Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) major. It has presence in the verticals of Power Transmission, Power Systems, Cables, Railways, Telecom and Water.


The company has bagged 723 crore orders in the Transmission business, '253 crore orders in Power Systems for substation works, '82 crore orders in the Water business, '105 crore orders in the Cable business and '49 crore in the Telecom business.


Transmission Business


In the Transmission business, the company has secured orders from Saudi Arabia, United States and Afghanistan. In addition to this, SAE Towers, the wholly owned subsidiary of the company has also secured orders from United States, Brazil and Mexico.


The Saudi Arabia order is for construction of 110kV /132kV double circuit overhead transmission lines (68 km) and underground cable works (13 km) on a turnkey basis. The order has been received from the Saudi Electricity Company. The order value is '310 crore and the contractual completion period is 21 months.


The order from The United States is for the supply of 345 kV transmission towers. The order has been secured from Isolux Ingenieria S.A. The order value is '155 crore and it is to be executed over 12 months.


The Afghanistan order is for construction of 220 kV double circuit overhead transmission lines between Kunduz & Taloqan Substations on turnkey basis. The order is from the client Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat. This order is secured under a consortium arrangement. The total order value is '132 crore in which the KEC portion stands at '104 crore. The contract completion period is 18 months.


SAE Towers, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Company, has secured various orders for tower supply from Unites States, Mexico and Brazil. The total value of these orders is '154 crore.


Power Systems Business


In the Power System business, the company has secured orders from Kenya, India and Philippines for substation works.


The Kenya order is secured from The Kenya Electricity Generating Company Limited (KenGen) for completion of 3 nos. of 220/132kV substations along with associated interconnecting transmission lines for Olkaria IV and Olkaria I power stations. The order value is '141 Crore and contractual completion period is 27 months.


The India order is from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) for the construction of 400kV/220kV Tumkur New AIS Substation and 400kV Gooti Substation Extension in Karnataka. The order value is '59 Crore and contractual completion period is 24 months.


In Philippines, the company has secured 2 orders from the National Grid Corporation of Philippines which consists of 230 kV Substation work in Lumban and 138kV Substation work in Colon-Cebu. Total order value of these orders is '53 crore and the contractual completion is 12 months for each order.


Water Business


In the Water business, the company has secured 4 new orders to the tune of '82 crore. Out of these, three orders are from Madhya Pradesh for the construction of Canals and one order is from West Bengal for Flood Protection Works. Including these new orders, the company's order book in the Water business has crossed '250 crore.


Cable Business


In the Cable business, the company has secured various orders for supply of Power Cables and Telecom Cables. The total value of these orders is '105 crore


Telecom Business


In the telecom business, the company has received a '49 crore order from Power Grid (PGCIL) for establishing 2200 kms of Optical Power Ground Wire (OPGW) communication network under hotline conditions in the Eastern region in India. This includes supply and stringing of OPGW cable and test equipments.
