Lanxess to expand rubber technical centre in Thane
Commodity Online MUMBAI: The specialty chemicals company LANXESS India Private Limited is expanding its services and facilities with the relocation of its Rubber Chemicals (RUC) Asia Pacific Technical Centre in Thane.
LANXESS said the relocation and expansion of the Technical Centre will open up new possibilities and enhance the strengths of the company’s application development and customer support capabilities.
Relocating to the new facility ensures close proximity to customers, availability of trained manpower, and connectivity to other parts of country.
The new RUC technical centre will have additional advanced facilities that will help in speedy commercialization and customer approval of products produced at the new Jhagadia plant. It will conduct product testing as well as training for participants in the rubber industry. It will also support the specific needs of customers, such as in developing new products and new applications using rubber chemicals specialty products from LANXESS.
During the centre’s inauguration, Luis Lopez-Remon, Global Head, Rubber Chemicals business unit, said, “The new Technical Centre will positively support LANXESS's initiative to develop new processes and formulations for the rubber industry that are cost effective and performance driven. It therefore complements and enhances the company’s global R&D capabilities to create and develop new innovative technologies."
Remon further added, “The satisfaction of our customers is our prime objective. We offer products that are supported by proven technical expertise to help our customers achieve business success.”
The Technical Centre is being relocated to Wagle Industrial Estate, Thane from Kolshet Road, Thane. The centre, which will be fully operational by May 2009, will be headed by Kishor Katkar, Head of Technical Services for Business Unit Rubber Chemicals.
