BANGKOK (Commodity Online): The three rubber related state organisations in Thailand is most likely to be united into one agency to boost the performance of the rubber industry.
The farmers and rubber trades are in total support to the move of unification of the agencies.
The three agencies are Rubber Research Institute of Thailand, the Office of the Rubber Replanting Aid Fund and the Rubber Estate Organisation.
The idea for the unification of the agency was raised several years ago, but it got cabinet approval in 2010 and has now passed its first reading in Parliament.
The new agency would be run as a state organisation and it will take care of the country's rubber industry from planting to selling the finished goods.
Thailand is the world’s largest rubber producer.
