TRIVANDRUM (Commodity Online): After a weak start in the beginning of monsoon season in India, it seems that, towards the end of the season, rainfall is picking up its strength.
The monsoon deficit in India is hardly 1% as on Friday on receiving heavy to very heavy rainfall over most of the parts for past few days.
The deficits had shown steady decrease for the past few days.
The friendly Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) wave in the Indian ocean could be reason for the change in situation.
The present scenario depicts the similar picture of last monsoon season. The monsoon last year gripped its strength towards the end and ended in above normal fashion.
It is predicted that, there would be heavy to very heavy rainfall for the next two days over the west coast. And also there would be isolated rainfall over Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha and south interior Karnataka for Saturday and Sunday.
Acoording to Indian meteorolgical Department (IMD) , there would be fairly widespread rain/thundershowers over many parts of the country outside extreme southeast peninsula and west Rajasthan where it may be isolated.
