NEW DELHI (Commodity Online): The monsoon in India holds grip as the rainfall has sharply rose to 14% above normal from 22% below normal last week.
Two weeks before, the rainfall was 22-23% below normal.
The rain is well distributed over the North East, North West and East of India, Irrigating the oilseed, soybean and rice growing areas.
The rain was also been good over the cereal and lentil growing areas in west Rajasthan according to the report by Reuters.
Last year, the rain was 26% below normal during this period and it took pace towards the end and end normally.
According to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the active phase of monsoon is to continue for more days.
