TRIVANDRUM (Commodity Online): After a weak start by the monsoon in India, it has picked up pace before it leaves the country. The monsoon deficit has been reduced to 2% in past couple of days and expected to persist for more days.
The IMD officials believe that most part of the country would witness good rainfall in coming days.
As per the predictions by Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there would be fairly widespread rainfall activity would occur over northwest, east, northeast India and west coast.
Heavy rainfall is expected over Gujarat state and isolated heavy rainfall in south Rajasthan and Gangetic West Bengal during next 48 hours.
Isolated heavy rainfall would occur over west Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Orissa, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during next 24 hours.
