NEW DELHI (Commodity Online) : The monsoon to remain weak over central and adjoining northwest India for next two days says Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
This reduced rainfall will result in increased rainfall in the south peninsular India, the North-eastern States and along the foothills of the Himalayas.
Past week, Central and Northeastern regions of India had received rainfall above normal and in south were about normal.
The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts says there are possibility of formation of cyclonic close to the Tamil Nadu coast and entering land.
Kalpana-1 satellite cloud imagery on Sunday afternoon showed rain bearing clouds over parts of western Himalayan region, Saurashtra, Kutch, west Madhya Pradesh, South Orissa, extreme south Peninsula, Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and southeast Arabian Sea.
According to the predictions by IMD, There would be fairly widespread rainfall and would continue over the North-eastern States and south peninsular and central India till Wednesday.
There are chances of isolated rainfall and thunder shower over rest of the plains of northwest and central India.
