NAFED floats tender to import 3,000 tons of RBD
NEW DELHI (Commodity Online): India’s cooperative major NAFED has floated a tender for the import of 3,000 tonnes of refined, bleached and deodorized palmolein (RBD) to be delivered by April 15, NAFED said in a statement on its website.
The bidders should quote for the entire tender quantity and has an option to quote in the multiple of 500 tonnes, it said. The bid will closes close on March 22 and a decision will be taken on t he same day, it added.
Bidders can import RBD either from Indonesia or Malaysia and the shipment should be made at Haldia port by April 15, it said.
India, the world’s largest importer of vegetable oil, has purchased 2.63 lakh tonnes of RBD palmolein from the overseas market in the last two months while in the same period last year it had imported 2.04 lakh tonnes, according to trade data.
