MUMBAI(Commodity Online): Castor seed on the NCDEX for March delivery is looking positive for short and medium term. Resistance for the commodity is seen at 3670 levels.
The contract is trading on a negative note at Rs. 3566, a fall of 1.14% as of 11.39 AM IST, Monday due to profit booking.
“Castor seed on the NCDEX for March delivery is looking positive and buy on dips is advised to the traders,” said Milan Shah, Research Analyst, Commodity Online.
“Support is seen at 3490 level while 3670 is the resistance. The commodity is positive for both short and medium term,” he added.
Castor seed output of India may fall to the lowest levels since 2010- 11 at around 1.14 mt for
2012- 13, as per projections by Nielsen India.
Inadequate water availability has affected the castor crop prospects in India, the world’s largest producer of the oilseed.
Production fall is seen in Gujarat and Rajasthan, two major castor growing states, at around
29% and 11%, respectively.
Total area under castor crop in the country has been registered at around 1.1 mn hectares (ha) this year against 1.14 mn ha, lower by about five per cent on year- on- year basis.
