NMCE launches WAP service for mobile users
AHMEDABAD (Commodity Online): Ahmedabad-based National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE) today launched a wireless application protocol (WAP) portal, offering traders services like spot and futures prices of commodities over their mobile phones.
In a circular issued today, the exchange said, "NMCE is pleased to announce the launch of its WAP portal for mobile phone users."
The portal will help various market participants to have ready information on commodity prices on a real-time basis, even while they are on the move, the statement said.
NMCE further said the WAP portal would provide information related to spot and futures prices of various commodities including metals, price charts, details of active contracts, top gainers and top losers contracts traded at its exchange platform.
The turnover of NMCE, which is market leader in commodities like, rubber, sack, guarseed and isabgul, has scaled up by five-folds to Rs.1,94,380 crore till February in the 2009-10 fiscal from Rs 39,625 crore in the year-ago period, the official data showed.
