NTPC to launch power exchange

MUMBAI: The National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (NTPC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NHPC Ltd, Power Finance Corporation Ltd (PFC) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) to start a power exchange at national level.

The power exchange would provide a neutral and transparent electronic platform for trading of power on ‘day ahead basis’ and ensure clearing of all trades in a transparent, fair and open manner with access to all players in the power markets, a statement from NTPC said.
