NTPC's thermal projects starts power production
Kahalgaon-based NTPC’s super thermal power project has started producing 500 MW in the second phase of its expansion programme.
With the new unit beginning generation of energy from Thursday, the plants capacity went up to 1340 mw from 840 mw, plant's General Manager, Mr U K Pani told reporters.
The four units of the plant launched in the first phase were producing 210 mw each at present, Mr pani said. The second 500 mw unit of the plant under the second phase was likely to be commissioned by September 2008, while third one with the same capac ity was scheduled to be completed by February 2009, he said.
