MANILA (Commodity Online): On the back of higher prodcution of copra, Philippines, the biggest exporter of coconut oil (CNO), is likely to export 925,000 metric tons (MT) of CNO in 2012 from 823,381 MT last year, according to United Coconut Association of the Philippines (UCAP).
In 2011, the coconut trees were affected by the El Niño phenomenon.
Presently, the buyers are possessing more than sufficient stocks and it is expected to move up with the new production as demand for the commodity is flat.
Philippines is the biggest exporter of coconut oil and exports around 80% of the country's produce.
