APPALACHIAN (Commodity Online): Remember The Miners event has raised around $40,000 to fund the two nobel causes Remember The Miners Scholars Program and the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment at West Virginia University.
Remember The Miners is a non-profit public awareness campaign dedicated to telling the story of America’s real source of energy, the coal miner.
The event, which was held at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1444 in Charleston, WV, attracted many folks to celebrate coal mining in West Virginia and pay tribute to Remember The Miners' Honorary Chairman and WVU Men’s Basketball Coach Bob Huggins.
According to Bob Huggins, it was a great night to celebrate West Virginia and raise money for two wonderful causes. It’s great to give our fans, coal mining supporters, and West Virginians the chance to come out, have fun, and raise money.
The Bob Huggins Tailgate netted $50,000 for Remember The Miners and the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment Fund.
