NEW DELHI (Commodity Online) : Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) posted a net profit of Rs 16.75 billion ($365.40 million) for the third quarter ended December 31, 2009.
In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), India’s state-run steel major said figures of the current quarter are not comparable with those of the corresponding period last fiscal year due to a merger of government-run Bharat Refractories Ltd with the company.
The company had a net profit of Rs 8.43 billion during the October-December period a year ago.
The government-run steel major has declared an interim dividend of Rs 1.60 per share for the financial year 2009-10.
