Sesa Goa rise leading markets into green
MUMBAI (Commodity Online): Metal stocks traded with extended gains today on the back of firm metal prices and international optimism.
Key benchmark index, Sensex opened with a positive note and traded with gains of over 1% at 17200 points in the morning trading session today. Index movers included key metal stocks like Tata Steel Ltd (BOM: 500470), Sesa Goa Ltd (BOM: 500295) and Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) (BOM: 532181).
Get Commodity Trading Tips at lowest ratesSteel stocks led by Tata Steel traded with positive mark on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) today. Tata Steel was trading at Rs.554.30 in the morning trading hour, while Bhushan Steel Ltd (BOM: 500055) traded at Rs.1319 up over 2%.
Mining major, GMDC and Sesa Goa recorded sharp rise in the stock price as GMDC gained by over 2.2% to Rs.109.05 and Sesa Goa shot up by over 6.5% to Rs.319.15 during the morning trades.
The sectoral metal index, BSE Metals was trading at 15111 points up by over 2% or 300 points from its Monday’s close. Markets remained closed on Tuesday due to General Assembly Elections in Maharashtra.
