Sun Pharma gets USFDA nod

MUMBAI (Commodity Online): Indian drug maker, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (BOM: 524715) on Wednesday announced that the company’s subsidiary has received the formal nod from the US drug regulator.

The group’s subsidiary has received the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) approval for anti-hypertension drug.

The company has received approval for Nicardipine Hydrocloride injections, available in the strength of 25 mg/10ml, Sun Pharmaceutical said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The injections are used for short-term treatment of hypertension when oral therapy is not feasible, the filing added. The company stocks have surged by close to 6% during past one month on the BSE.
