Tata Motors sink, ONGC gain in choppy market
MUMBAI (Commodity Online): Indian stock markets slipped into red after opening with a positive note, the benchmark index, Sensex traded with marginal loss of 0.2% at 16807 points during the initial trading hours today.
Sensex gained over 100 points to 16963 points in the opening move, however markets could not sustain the positive sentiment and slipped into red to 16753 points, making it the day’s low.

Tata Motors Ltd (BOM: 500570) lost by close to 4.5% at Rs.562.20, while ITC Ltd (BOM: 500875) and Britannia Industries Ltd (BOM: 500825) were among the FMCG group companies to post losses during the trading hours today.
However, realty stocks witnessed a rise. Index heavyweight Reliance Industries fell today after gaining on Thursday after announcing 1:1 bonus issue. Company stocks traded at Rs.2129.30 marginally up by 0.4%, while oil exploration stocks rose on firm crude oil prices but PSU OMCs fell.
ONGC (BOM: 500312) traded at Rs.1207.25 marginally up by 0.3%, while Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) (BOM: 500547) was down over 1% to Rs.560.20.
