Tata Steel wins award for CSR initiatives
MUMBAI (Commodity Online): Tata Steel’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives have earned the steel giant the UK trade & Investment (UKTI) India Business Award 2009.
The award was received by Tata Steel vice-president (corporate services) Partha Sengupta and chief (Corporate sustainability services) Satish Pillai from Lord Mervyn Davies of UKTI in Mumbai on September 17, according to a press release.
Hindustan Unilever Limited and the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology were the other two nominees shortlisted for the award along with Tata Steel.
The event had seven award categories namely- Investor of the year, Business Partnership Award, Green Innovation Award, New Market Entrant, Corporate Social Responsibility Award, Young Business Leader of the Year and Business Person of the Year, the release said.
