HANOI (Commodity Online): The natural rubber export earnings of Vietnam in 2011 has risen over 31% in value year-on-year, touching $3.1 billion from 800,000 tons, acording to Vietnam Rubber Association.
China had been the major importer of Vietnamese rubber.
Presently, Vietnam has about 740,000 hectares under rubber plantations and has been ranked fifth in the world in rubber cultivation.
The country has set target of 800,000 hectares under rubber for 2015.
On Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM), the rubber for February traded at 252.6 yen per Kg at 18 JST and On India's National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE), the commdity for february traded at Rs 19,871 at 14:35 IST on 4th January.
