HANOI (Commodity Online): Vietnam's agricultural exports for 2011-12 is expected to rise in volume terms, while slight decrease in value is expected, according to Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
Vietnam exports agricultural products like rice, cashew nuts, rubber, coffee, tea and other agri-products.
The country's rubber exports is expected to touch 880,000 tons for 2011-12 from 846,000 tons last year, while the value is expected just over US $2.1 billion.
The volume of cashew nuts export in 2012 is expected to reach more than 200,000 tons with a value of US$1.75 billion, up from 178,000 tons and US$1.5 billion.
Vietnam's tea exports is likely to see a rise in volume to an estimated 140,000 tons but a slight decrease in value to US$190 million.
Meanwhile, Vietnam will witness a huge drop of 300,000 tons in exports of rice this year. Vietnam is one of the top exporter of rice in the world.
