Wall Street to end week with gains

NEW YORK: Following the Citi Group results which showed unexpected profits, the Wall Street witnessed a bull run with Dow Jones industrial average and the S&P 500 climbing to session highs on Friday.
The Nasdaq cut earlier losses to trade near break-even as investors snapped up shares of Apple ahead of the tech bellwether’s results next week.
The Dow Jones industrial average gained 28.28 points, or 0.35 per cent, to 8,153.71. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index gained 5.27 points, or 0.61 per cent, to 870.57. But the Nasdaq Composite Index dropped 2.08 points, or 0.12 per cent, to 1,668.36.
