India plans to focus on technology development through Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) for setting up cold storage facilities in the country to control the loss of vegetables and fruits, according to Anand Sharma, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry.
To store the surplus agricultural produce and to minimise food loss, India government plans to support the rural entrepreneurs with bank loans to create small and mid-size warehousing facilities.
