Silo complexes for FCI to be built in UP, Bihar by Adani Agri Logistics

Adani Agri Logistics Ltd (AALL) is to set up silo complexes for FCI (Food Corporation of India) in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

The company obtained a Letter of Award (LoA) from FCI after competitive bidding to build silo complexes in certain places. As per the LoA  AALL would set up and manage silo complexes in Gonda, Kanpur and Sandila in Uttar Pradesh and Katihar in Bihar.  

According to a company statement, AALL will reach a capacity of 15.25 lakh MT in around 24 locations. The company claims that the project would support the farmers who have to wait around 2-3 days for their agricultural produce to reach the mandi procurement chain, as the project is said to cut down the processing time to a considerable extent which will improve procurement efficiency. It is also claimed to benefit the consumers and the beneficiaries of the Public Distribution System and reduce the expenses for transportation, gunny bags and labour.
