India has overtook Japan and secures the second spot for the largest Stainless Steel producer in the world after China, as per the data released by the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF).

India's Stainless Steel production during 2016 has increased by about 9 percent to 3.32 million tons when compared to the production in 2015. Now the government is looking forward to improve sustainability and growth to reach new heights.

India's Stainless Steel industry is expected to get a push from Make in India, smart cities, focus on improving sanitation & waste management facilities, building new infrastructure etc.

India's increased exports of Stainless Steel to Europe and America has proved that the Indian producers are capable of producing quality materials from their advanced mills.
