India's 2018-19 Vegetable Oil imports may climb 14% despite slow Q1: USDA

India imported 1,286,240 tonnes of Vegetable Oil, consisting of 1,246,462 tons of edible oils and 39,778 tons of non-edible oils in May, rose 7% as compared to 1,384,439 tons in May 2017, according to latest data released by the Solvent Extractors' Association (SEA) of India.

The overall import of vegetable oils during November 2017 to May 2018 is reported at 8,604,535 tons compared to 8,522,704 tons i.e. Up by 1%.

The country's imports of Palm Oil in May stood at 496,478 tonnes, while Soybean Oil imports were 396,969 tonnes.
