India’s Multi Commodity Exchange has recorded turnover of Rs. 9,807.03 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX during session 1 on 12 February, 2018.
In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 9,794.54 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs.12.49 crores.
MCX Comdex, the composite index of metals, energy and agri-commodities was up by 25.11 point to 3,546.41, MCX Metal index was reached at 5,128.89, MCX Energy index at 2,709.54, and MCX Agri index at 2,764.48.
MCX COMDEX is India's maiden real-time Composite Commodity Index based on commodity futures prices of commodities listed on MCX.
Future turnover at MCX was Rs. 9,794.54 crores with 208,928 trades.
In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 1,641.36 crores. GOLD Apr-18 contract was up by 0.26% to Rs. 30,086 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Feb-18 contract was up by 0.21% to Rs. 24,271 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Feb-18 contract was up by 0.27% to Rs. 2,996 per 1 gram. On other hand, GOLDM Mar-18 contract was up by 0.22% to Rs. 30,064 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-18 contract was up by 0.89% to Rs.37,913 per kg, SILVERM Feb-18 contract was up by 0.86% to Rs.37,932 per kg, SILVERMIC Feb-18 contract was up by 0.86% to Rs.37,933 per kg.
Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 4,291.09 crores. ALUMINIUM Feb-18 contract was down by 0.04% to Rs.137 per kg, COPPER Feb-18 contract was up by 1.10% to Rs.438 per kg, LEAD Feb-18 contract was down by 1.07% to Rs.162 per kg, NICKEL Feb-18 contract was up by 0.66% to Rs.840 per kg, ZINC Feb-18 contract was up by 0.37% to Rs.218.95 per kg.
Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 3,522.88 crores. CRUDEOIL Feb-18 contract was up by 1.86% to Rs. 3,878 per BBL and CRUDEOILM Feb-18 contract was up by 1.89% to Rs.3,878 per BBL. NATURALGAS Feb-18 contract was down by 1.20% to Rs.165 per MMBTU.
Turnover of AGRI products was Rs.339.21 crores. CARDAMOM Feb-18 contract was down by 0.06% to Rs.1,150 per kg, COTTON Feb-18 contract was up by 0.05% to Rs.20,030 per bales, CPO Feb-18 contract was up by 0.92% to Rs.579 per 10 kgs, MENTHAOIL Feb-18 contract was down by 0.16% to Rs.1,434 per kg.
Options on Commodity Futures
At 5 p.m., Gold Options accounted for Rs.12.49 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs.14.96 lakhs & volume of 41 kgs with open interest of 454 kgs. The volume was 56.31% contributed by Call Options and 43.69% contributed by Put Options.
Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option at Strike price of Rs. 30,500 with High of Rs. 263.5, Low of Rs.201, close price of Rs.257 and volume of 11 kgs. & Put Option at Strike price of Rs. 30,000 with High of Rs. 380.5, Low of Rs.344, close price of Rs.350.5 and volume of 17 kgs.
