The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) estimates India's 2018-19 soybean production at 11.0 million metric tons, up nearly 32 percent from 2017/18.

Area is estimated to reach 11.0 million hectares, up 6 percent from last year. Yield is estimated at 1.0 ton per hectare, up 25 percent from both last year and the 5-year average.

“The high yield is attributed to favorable weather in the major soybean producing areas,” USDA said in its latest report.

USDA cuts its estimate for global Soybean production by 2.0 million tons with lower production for the United States and Argentina partly offset by increases for China, India, and Ukraine.
